Short bio: Daughter of Gotham's top mob boss, Helena Bertinelli was the only survivor of a slaughter of her entire family as a young girl.

She grew up with her mother's extended mob-assassin family in Sicily, until they were all arrested.

She's devoted her life to hunting down the likes of her own family, and the people who killed them in front of her.

Oh. Yeah. And she's a Catholic schoolteacher by day. Because it's comics and duality is cool.

Later, Oracle somehow managed to get her to join her team of operatives. She has a rocky relationship with the team's leader, but friendships with Black Canary and Lady Blackhawk have made her more of a team player. A Bird of Prey.

I can't have you threatening the children in my care. I know you value your word.
